Thanks for sending your questions. We at the ACLU want students to know their rights and use them.

We’d love to know how your school, and schools around the country, are responding to your walkout. Tell us here. We will not publicize your story without your permission.

Learn about how you can join the ACLU Summer Institute here. From free speech to privacy and from mass incarceration to voting rights, students will become experts on the issues currently being confronted in the United States’ courts and political arena.

For more resources, including a full training on students’ protest rights by ACLU experts, a printable PDF of students’ protest rights that you can have on-hand while demonstrating, how students’ rights differ on and off public school gronds, and more, you can visit our full resource page on student protests here.

Today, Tumblr and the Society for News Design, in collaboration with the office of Congressman Mark Takano (CA-41) announced the first annual “International Chart Day,” to take place on April 26th.

Charts and other variations of information graphics have been around for hundreds of years, and are an important tool for making complex information easier to understand. The growing debate over “fake news” is only going to increase the importance of the chart in dispelling untruths and countering intentional misinformation, and in creating a more informed society.

On April 26, chart lovers will unite to celebrate the first-ever “International Chart Day,” an opportunity for the infographic creating community to engage the public by sharing their favorite examples, further explaining the history and value of charts, and sharing insight in to how to create high-quality, visually engaging, informative visualizations.

Really love Charts? Reblog this post and get your friends excited about International Chart Day on April 26th!

  • (Movies) Lady Bird nearly swan dives off the list. It drops nine spots to No. 20.
  • (Ships) Lotura plummets twelve spots to No. 18. Is this royal ship over before it even began?
  • (K-Pop) We say mama mama moo~ Mamamoo (No. 18) falls five spots just a week after their comeback.
  • (Celebrities) Wakanda is forever, but Lupita Nyong’o’s time on Fandometrics might not be. She tumbles fourteen spots to No. 18.
  • (Video Games) Life is Strange takes a thirteen spot fall to No. 20. Strange, indeed.

There are few humans who have shaped the way we think about life, about humanity, about love, and about science as Stephen Hawking did. The loss of his life was felt all across the world. The response on Tumblr was so strong and heartfelt, it catapulted him to the No. 1 most talked about celebrity for the entire week.

Thank you for everything, Professor Hawking.

Etude House Color Factory: Finding A Perfect Lipstick!

If you’ve never been professionally color-matched, I highly suggest all makeup (or fashion) lovers try it at least once in your lifetime.

This is a process that studies the true undertone of your skin (not an easy task without either a good machine or a truly experienced expert because it’s quite hard to eyeball) and classifies you into one of 8 “Seasonal” classifications based on what sort of colors are most flattering on you.

It’s not been easily available here in Singapore until Etude House launched their Color Factory service at Wisma Atria, featuring a skin scanning device, trained color consultants, and a whopping selection of 240 unique lip shades to choose from. All at a price of S$58.

The process includes:

  1. Multiple skin scans with the Color Finder device to find your confirmed undertone (under any superficial tan or makeup)
  2. Draping process to narrow down specific tones that even out your skin tone, make you look more healthy, or bring out your facial structure
  3. Lip color swatching to pick your favorite shade (from among a bunch that mostly suit you) based on your lifestyle and styling preferences
  4. Choosing your favorite refillable lip case and what you want engraved on it
  5. Going home with your custom tube of lipstick in a shade you can throw on easily and trust to flatter you any time

You WILL have to book an appointment as the full session takes about an hour and your lipstick is poured on the day itself, so slots are limited. For more information, check out my full experience here, or the Etude House website!
